Position Title: Network & System AdministratorLocation: University of Jamestown, Jamestown, North DakotaEmployment Type: Full-time, 12-month staff position with benefitsApplication Deadline: Open until filledFLSA Status: ExemptThe University of Jamestown is seeking applicants for a Network/System Administrator working out of the main Information Technology offices located in Jamestown, North Dakota. This position supports academic, administrative, and residential technology across the campus network. The Network and Systems Administrator keeps wired and wireless services, servers, storage, and core applications available and reliable for students, faculty and staff, and partners with the help desk and other IT staff on projects and elevated support.About the University of Jamestown:University of Jamestown is a community dedicated to the development of wholeness in our students. - Maintenance, support, and performance monitoring of network equipment and servers
- Manage the VMware cluster
- Monitoring and support of network services ( DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc…)
- Maintenance of users and groups within Windows Active Directory and M365
- Edge and internal security for network (Router, firewall, permissions)
- Exchange and Office365 support
- Documentation of changes made to the system
- Manage UJ’s Cybersecurity Awareness Program
- Backups of systems
- Faculty/staff support as needed
- Bachelor’s degree and/or competitive experience
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of Windows Server 2012R2 or newer
- Understanding of network protocols
- Knowledge of methodology of network and PC Troubleshooting
- Scripting knowledge a plus
- Understanding configuration for Extreme Network switches, SonicWALL routers, and Aruba Wireless networks a plus
