The Network Fleet Supervisor owns daily control tower execution for the Star Fleet program. This role leads real-time visibility to active shipments, team capacity, and cross-district reload opportunities, and aligns GNS Central activity with geographical districts, hub operations, and carrier partners. The Supervisor leads the daily operating cadence and holds final operational decision authority when capacity, service, or risk tradeoffs must be resolved.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Control Tower Execution: Maintain the network capacity board for Star Fleet and other known high-value team capacity. Monitor load status, delivery appointment, next available time, and commitment status. Identify team availability within 24, 48, and 72 hours. Ensure delivering teams have a clear next-load strategy before they become empty.

  • District Intake and Capacity Decisions: Serve as the first point of intake for district high-value truckload requests. Apply the capacity decision hierarchy and return one of four decisions: Approved for Star Fleet, Star Fleet pending reload plan, Route to ad hoc procurement, or Escalate.

  • Daily Operating Cadence: Run the morning capacity census, midday district matching, and afternoon lockdown. Publish and maintain the rolling 3-day capacity outlook so districts know where teams will land and where reload demand is needed.

  • Exception Management: Own timely communication of service exceptions - delays, missed check calls, border delays, and other service risks. Coordinate recovery with districts, hubs, inland offices, and carrier partners. Escalate to the Manager when capacity, service, compliance, or commercial risk requires leadership review.

  • Team Leadership: Oversee scheduling, time-off coordination, and coverage. Promote cross-training across the control tower functions. Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of the Planner. Identify and develop a backup for this function.

  • Cross-Border Oversight: Ensure US, Canada, and Mexico shipments have appropriate execution ownership, tracking, and exception discipline.

  • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent logistics, truckload, operations, or leadership experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Full Truckload, team-driver, or linehaul operations.

  • Proven ability to lead in a time-sensitive control tower environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Ability to work in the Phoenix, AZ Metro Area.

  • Basic Microsoft Office, including Excel. Fluent in English.

  • Desired: Hands-on knowledge of GNS, high-value truckload, dedicated fleet, or cross-border operations.

  • Experience supervising operations team members.

  • Familiarity with hub-and-relay staging, weekend dwell management, and backhaul optimization. Intermediate to advanced Excel.

Expeditors offers excellent benefits:

  • Paid Vacation, Holiday, Sick Time
  • Health Plan: Medical
  • Life Insurance
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • Training and Personnel Development Program
  • Growth opportunities within the company
  • Employee Referral Program Bonus
