Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a New York Labor Law Examiner to join our growing team. This position may be located at our Rutherford, New Jersey headquarters or Remote based. The work of our examiners directly impacts the success of our organization. You will have the ability to make a meaningful impact by leveraging your claim handling skills, industry expertise, customer service skills, and ability to execute with a high degree of professionalism. Responsibilities
- Manage complex New York Labor Law general liability claims and third-party property and bodily injury.
- Maintain a current understanding of relevant statutes and case law.
- Expertise in admitted and non-admitted policy coverages.
- Knowledge of New York Labor Law: 200, 240(1), 241(6)
- Investigate claims and determine coverage. Identify coverage issues and draft coverage position letters. When necessary, retain coverage counsel and implement recommendations.
- Participate in litigation activities including assignment of defense panel counsel, monitoring of defense counsel work.
- Provide internal and external stakeholders with regular updates including reserve recommendations, coverage and contractual issues, determination of liability.
- Manage litigation and negotiate settlements.
- Determine reserves and monitor for accuracy.
- Manage litigation and defense.
- Manage all claims in accordance with industry best practices.
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Must maintain current and valid adjuster license(s).
- Strong project management skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong working knowledge of insurance law(s) and construction safety regulation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience working for a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) company is a plus.
