Job Summary/Description:

Alaska's News Source seeks a skilled fill-in broadcast News Anchor who has a proven record of on-camera broadcast experience. The ideal candidate has exceptional communication skills. This is a high-profile position in our statewide community and our newsroom, which demands leadership and initiative. We are looking for a proven and experienced anchor who is available for part-time on-call work as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Anchor all newscasts (Morning, Evening, and Weekend) as needed on-call
  • Work closely with newscast producers and Executive Producers to ensure story selection and quality of broadcasts are clear, compelling, and consistent
  • Build local contacts and relationships
  • Participate in station visits and promotional initiatives
  • Excellent news judgment
  • Must be able to communicate with the audience with ease during breaking news, while making sound, split-second decisions during live broadcasts

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years experience as a broadcast Anchor
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Commitment to excellence and ability to excel on an award-winning news team
  • Clear understanding of and adherence to journalistic ethics
