The Familie is a music and sports agency representing top talent across the entertainment and athletic industries. Headquartered in Nashville, The Familie also has offices in Los Angeles, Scottsdale, and San Diego. We offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated college student to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of talent management.
Position Overview:
The NIL & Athlete Marketing Intern will support the agency’s football and basketball athlete marketing efforts, with a primary focus on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) strategy, partnerships, and brand development for collegiate athletes. This role will also assist in fundraising and sponsorship initiatives for The Familie’s EYBL ( Elite Youth Basketball League) program.
Interns will gain hands-on exposure to NIL deal structuring, brand partnership outreach, athlete positioning strategy, sponsorship asset development, and revenue-generation efforts across both individual athlete marketing and youth sports initiatives.
Please note this is an unpaid internship, applicants must be eligible for class credit.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of NIL marketing strategies for football and basketball athletes
- Research and build prospect lists for brand partnerships aligned with athlete positioning
- Support outreach efforts to prospective NIL sponsors and corporate partners
- Assist in drafting pitch decks, one-sheets, and sponsorship proposals for collegiate athletes
- Track and organize NIL opportunities, deliverables, and partnership timelines
- Conduct market research on NIL deal trends, brand spend categories, and competitor partnerships
- Assist in valuation research and benchmarking of NIL compensation
- Support sponsorship & donor outreach efforts for The Familie’s EYBL youth basketball program
- Research into prospective corporate partners in regional and national markets
Details:
Duration: Mid-March through June
Hours: 20-25 hours weekly
Compensation: Unpaid; eligible for academic credit
In-Office Requirement: Interns are expected to be onsite 2-3 days per week
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in NIL, college athletics, and athlete brand development
- Understanding of football and basketball landscapes at the collegiate level
- Analytical mindset with ability to research market trends and sponsorship categories
- Experience in sports marketing, fundraising, sales, or brand partnerships preferred
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Preferably juniors, seniors, or postgraduate
