Job Title: Procurement Specialist Job Location: West Hollywood, CA 90048 Working Hours: Day Shift | 5x8-Hour Shifts (08:00–17:00) Department: Purchasing / Supply Chain Position Summary: The Procurement Specialist supports the Purchasing Team in the acquisition of commodities, equipment, services, and contracts for assigned commodity groups. This role involves processing purchase requisitions, liaising with vendors, coordinating with internal departments, and assisting with contract evaluation and renewals. The ideal candidate demonstrates attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Key Responsibilities: • Review purchase requisitions for approval, completeness, accuracy, and compliance. • Edit and prepare purchase orders, including vendor selection, items, quantities, pricing, and terms. • Place orders via phone, fax, EDI, or other channels; ensure accurate contract pricing. • Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors in conjunction with Contract Administrator/Purchasing Supervisor. • Perform data entry for purchase orders and maintain accurate records. • Coordinate with service personnel regarding equipment repairs and necessary documentation. • Develop relationships with client departments to understand their goals and service needs. • Maintain product knowledge and investigate alternative sources of supply. • Act as a specialist for assigned commodities, providing information and literature to departments. • Perform bidding for goods, services, and equipment per policy; recommend cost-effective alternatives. • Coordinate with departments, receiving personnel, vendors, and accounts payable to resolve invoice or delivery issues. Required Qualifications & Skills: • High School Diploma or GED. • Minimum 2 years of experience in a purchasing department or related area. • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and maintain accuracy under deadlines. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). • Team-oriented and able to collaborate with cross-functional departments. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with PeopleSoft in a healthcare or research/lab environment highly preferred. • Knowledge of purchasing policies, vendor management, and contract compliance.
