Job Description

Join a premier U.S. manufacturer renowned for producing precision-engineered forged components. We are on the lookout for a motivated individual eager to advance inspection technology in a dynamic manufacturing setting. This role is ideal for those who want a hands-on experience fostering collaboration with Quality Assurance, Metallurgy, Process Engineering, and Production teams to enhance non-destructive testing procedures and troubleshoot production challenges.

Key responsibilities include: - Enhance and oversee non-destructive evaluations such as Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, and Radiographic Testing. - Develop procedures, instructions, and guidelines for NDT practices and maintain ultrasonic reference models. - Utilize methodologies like 8D and Root Cause Analysis to resolve inspection and manufacturing concerns. - Investigate new technologies for NDT including Phased Array UT and utilize automation. - Design ergonomic solutions and enhance the safety of NDT operations. - Maintain equipment calibration, certification, and inspection records. - Interpret technical drawings and customer requirements to choose suitable testing methods. - Analyze inspection data to identify process optimization opportunities. - Collaborate with teams to provide technical insights and guide NDT technicians and support auditing processes. - Engage with Lean and Six Sigma initiatives for continuous progress within the company.

Ideal candidates will have: - A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. - 0-5 years of relevant experience obtained through internships, projects, or industry involvement. - Familiarity with NDT methods like UT, MT, PT, and potential certification under ASNT or ISO standards. - Technical proficiency in CAD, particularly SolidWorks, and experience with Microsoft Office. - Confidence in collaborating across office and manufacturing environments.

Desirable skills and experience: - Practical experience with inspection and testing methods. - Progress towards ASNT Level II certification. - Background in Lean Manufacturing or related methodologies. - Exposure to metals and heavy manufacturing environments as well as ERP/MRP systems.
