Job Description

Location: Anacortes, WASchedule: Full Time | Day ShiftSalary Range: $49.75 – $69.65 per hour

As our Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will provide both safe and accurate diagnostic scans in accordance with Island Hospital’s Promise and to perform quality assurance procedures and maintain records in accordance with Washington State law.

What you will be doing:

  • Uses appropriate isotope, scan parameters and positions patients accurately to produce scans as prescribed by a physician.
  • Performs all Quality Control required by Washington State and Island Hospital
  • Maintains good working rapport with medical staff and Radiologists to provide excellent patient care.
  • Processes and critiques films to be read by radiologists.
  • Communicates to referring physician as requested by radiologist.
  • Provides technologist notes.
  • Explains procedure to each patient prior to exam.
  • Provides for patient privacy, comfort, and safety.
  • Transports patients to and from patients waiting area and/or patient rooms assuming responsibility for their safety.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness during procedures.
  • May answer phone and assist in making appointments.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to interact positively with Administration, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, peers, co-workers, subordinates, patients and visitors. Must meet regular attendance standard and must stay at or below average sick leave utilization levels.

What you will bring:

  • Have correct understanding of gamma camera, nuclear physics, and Human Anatomy and Physiology to produce accurate scans and to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Must have ability to obtain scans on various age groups and patients--prenatal through geriatric. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and can identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
  • Highly organized with the ability to coordinate multiple, deadline-driven tasks.
  • Advanced aesthetic skills with the ability to design complex and compelling solutions with attention to detail.
  • Able to collaborate with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Your Qualifications:

  • Must be a current member of ARRT or NMTCB and have met C.E. requirements
  • Current WA State license as a certified Radiological Technologist in Nuclear Medicine
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong attention to detail, patient-first mindset, and commitment to high-quality imaging standards.
