Position Overview
CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary and urgent care at a federal correctional institution in Oxford, Wisconsin. FCI Oxford is a medium-security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum-security satellite camp in rural central Wisconsin. You will manage a panel of incarcerated patients, conducting sick call assessments, chronic care visits, and intake screenings under physician collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans within scope of practice
- Manage chronic disease clinics including diabetes, hypertension, HIV, hepatitis C, and respiratory conditions
- Perform intake physical examinations and health screening assessments
- Prescribe medications per BOP formulary guidelines
- Order and interpret laboratory results, imaging studies, and diagnostic tests
- Provide urgent care and coordinate transfers when indicated
- Document clinical encounters in the BOP electronic health record
- Participate in quality assurance and infection control activities
Required Qualifications
- MSN with NP certification or Master of Physician Assistant Studies
- National certification (AANP/ANCC for NPs; NCCPA for PAs)
- Active, unrestricted Wisconsin license (or ability to obtain)
- Active DEA registration
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass federal background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
- Correctional healthcare or community health experience
- Familiarity with BOP clinical practice guidelines
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $120,000 - $155,000 annually
