Job Description

Position Overview

CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary and urgent care at a federal prison camp in Alderson, West Virginia. FPC Alderson is a minimum-security federal prison camp for female inmates in rural southeastern West Virginia. You will manage a panel of female inmates, conducting assessments, chronic care visits, women's health screenings, and intake evaluations under physician collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans
Manage chronic disease clinics and women's health screening programs
Perform intake physical examinations including gynecological assessments
Prescribe medications per BOP formulary guidelines
Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
Provide urgent care and coordinate transfers
Document encounters in the BOP electronic health record
Participate in quality assurance and infection control

Required Qualifications

MSN with NP certification or Master of PA Studies
National certification (AANP/ANCC or NCCPA)
Active, unrestricted West Virginia license (or ability to obtain)
Active DEA registration
Current BLS and ACLS certification
U.S. citizenship required
Ability to pass federal background investigation

Preferred Qualifications

Women's health NP certification (WHNP)
Correctional healthcare experience
