The Nursing Healthcare Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and placing qualified nursing professionals in healthcare facilities nationwide. This role requires extensive experience in healthcare recruitment, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage high-volume staffing needs while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for nursing positions including:
- Registered Nurses (RN)
- Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurses (LVN/LPN)
- Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)
- Travel Nurses and Per Diem Staff
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and professional networks.
- Conduct phone and virtual interviews to assess clinical skills, experience, and cultural fit.
- Verify credentials including licenses, certifications (BLS/ACLS), immunization records, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate onboarding processes including background checks, drug screenings, and required documentation.
- Maintain strong relationships with healthcare facilities, hiring managers, and nursing professionals.
- Negotiate pay rates, contract terms, and assignment details with candidates.
- Track recruitment metrics and maintain accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Joint Commission standards.
- Mentor junior recruiters and support team development initiatives.
- Meet and exceed monthly placement and revenue targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration.
- Minimum 3–5 years of healthcare recruitment experience, specifically in nursing.
- Strong knowledge of travel nursing and allied healthcare staffing.
- Familiarity with credentialing requirements and compliance standards.
- Experience working with ATS and CRM systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Preferred Skills
- Established database of nursing candidates.
- Experience with multi-state licensing processes.
- Knowledge of The Joint Commission standards.
- Leadership or team management experience.
