Job Description
Beloit Health System is hiring for a Secretary in our Nursing Office at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
- Shift: 1st
- Schedule: 8:00a-5p
- Hours per week: 24 per week
- Benefits Status: Benefits Eligible
- Department: BMH Nursing Administration
The Nursing Office Secretary will provide support to the Nursing Supervisor and administrative nursing staff with coordinating the staff schedule, preparing the staffing compliment, preparing payroll, recording employee ill time, responding to vacation request, and general secretarial support.
The Nursing Office Secretary:
- Accurately prepares monthly staffing schedules with personnel in each department in a timely manner, adjusting as needed.
- Assist Nursing Supervisor in providing adequate staff including accurate transcription of monthly staffing into daily time schedule and calling staff to cover unexpected unit needs.
- Accurately maintains records of employee benefit time, including attendance and tardiness, provides appropriate feedback to directors.
- Demonstrates flexibility with clerical duties as assigned by leadership and supervisors.
- Maintains effective interpersonal relationships with multidisciplinary healthcare team, patients, families, and community members.
- Displays teamwork and a positive attitude.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Typing skill of 50 wpm.
- Computer knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Ability to understand a variety of communication styles with professional telephone etiquette.
- Timely completion of assigned duties with strong ability to prioritize.
- Maintain ethical conduct and patient confidentiality.
- Adhere to hospital and Department of Nursing's policies and procedures.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, lift, reach, and sit at long intervals.
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to speak clearly and distinctly and interact positively with physicians, peers, and the public
Reporting Relationship: Nursing Supervisor, Manager, & Director.
