Great benefits and competitive pay!Job DetailsPosition Summary:The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialist is responsible for fostering the professional growth and ongoing development of nursing staff through educational programs, training initiatives, and continuous learning opportunities. This role partners with nursing leadership to assess educational needs, design curriculum, and implement strategies that enhance clinical practice and improve patient care outcomes across the organization.Key Responsibilities:
- Advances the nursing profession by supporting the professional development of team members, fostering collaborative relationships, and promoting lifelong learning.
- Applies the educational design process to address knowledge, skill, and practice gaps identified through formal needs assessments.
- Collaborates with organizational leadership in planning and decision-making processes to positively influence interprofessional practice environments and achieve desired outcomes.
- Leads and supports process improvement initiatives at various levels of the organization through project management, change management, and performance improvement strategies.
- Encourages the generation, dissemination, and application of evidence-based knowledge to enhance nursing professional development practice and patient care delivery.
- Actively promotes nursing professional development as a specialty practice area through support of research, evidence-based practice (EBP), and quality improvement (QI) initiatives.
- Facilitates smooth transitions for nurses and healthcare team members across roles, practice settings, and stages of professional development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Experience leading projects with interdisciplinary teams preferred.
- Experience with data analysis and delivering professional presentations preferred.
- Experience working collaboratively with all organizational levels required.
- Healthcare experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software required.
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field required; or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with active pursuit of a Master’s degree in Nursing or related field.
- Completion of a Nurse Education track within an MSN program preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required depending on service area.
- Professional nursing certification preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience required.
- Supervisory experience not required.
