Job Description

Description
  1. Prepare meals, following daily menus planned by the agency’s Nutrition Specialist, Health Services Coordinator, and Nutrition Consultant.
  2. Follow correct sanitation procedures; clean and maintain the kitchen work area, including equipment and utensils. Dispose of garbage properly.
  3. Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports related to the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
  4. Report broken or missing equipment and needed supplies.
  5. Verify and sign all receipts, bills, and other documentation when items or supplies are received.
  6. Wear a hairnet in accordance with MET plans and procedures.
  7. Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and training sessions.
  8. Recruit and train volunteer cook aides.
  9. When staff absences or shortages require, assist in the agency transportation component as a transportation aide.
  10. Report to work at scheduled time and maintain good attendance.
  11. Perform all duties in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
  12. Participate with a positive attitude and behavior in all programs activities.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of program records and participant data.
  14. Assist in meeting agency non-federal share matching requirement.
Requirements
  1. Employee will have a high school diploma or GED. An associate degree in from a college or university preferred. Must have experience and specialized training in food service.
  2. Must pass criminal background check and is subject to the agency’s drug and alcohol testing program.
  3. Negative Tuberculosis Screen, First Aid certification, CPR certification with emphasis on children and toddlers.
  4. Extensive travel required in the area; must be able to travel outside project area as assigned.
  5. May come into contact with childhood diseases and blood on occasion.
  6. Possess a valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record, as approved by the agency’s vehicle insurance carrier.
  7. Employee must have an account with a financial institution that can process financial transactions through MET’s electronic payroll system.
  8. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer functions.
