Nutrition Services Cook Manager

Are you passionate about nutrition, leadership, and creating a positive school experience for students? The Cook Manager at Linwood Elementary leads the daily preparation and service of nutritious breakfast and lunch meals that meet federal, state, and district guidelines. This role ensures meals are safe, timely, and high quality while creating an organized, supportive, and efficient kitchen environment.

Your Role Will Include:

• Leading and supervising daily meal preparation and service in alignment with approved menus and production requirements.
• Scheduling, training, mentoring, and evaluating kitchen staff to maintain high standards of performance and sanitation.
• Ensuring full compliance with HACCP food safety standards, including proper food temperatures and safe handling procedures.
• Managing inventories, invoices, payroll vouchers, meal reports, and required documentation.
• Projecting meal counts and submitting food and USDA commodity orders.
• Overseeing receiving and storage of food and supplies.
• Maintaining kitchen equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Coordinating food service support for school events and special functions.
• Supervising annual kitchen opening and closing procedures.
• Promoting child nutrition education and participating in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

• School Nutrition Association (SNA) Level 3 Certification (with annual recertification).
• Food Manager’s Certificate (preferred) or Serv Safe Certification within the last 6 months or willingness to obtain within one month. . 
• Prior experience in school or institutional food service preferred.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift 10–25 lbs daily and up to 50 lbs weekly; standing and walking required throughout the day.

Salary and Benefits:

• Hourly Rate, $21.60 – $25.61. 
• Benefits and additional compensation provided in accordance with the Nutrition Agreement.

Location & Shift Times:

• Linwood Elementary, FT 6 AM - 2 PM, 5 days per week. 178 days per year.
