Job Description
Cheyenne OBGYN is the preferred OBGYN clinic in Cheyenne and southeastern Wyoming. We are looking for GREAT people that want to be part of a special team of individuals providing outstanding care for our patients. We are the only AIUM certified OBGYN clinic in the state. We offer excellent pay and benefits along with flexible schedules.
EDUCATION
Associate Degree or successful graduation from an accredited ultrasonography program. Current licensure by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Performs high quality basic and comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound imaging exams in accordance with established AIUM and ACOG guidelines and protocols under the supervision of the OB/GYN physicians.
- Operates ultrasound equipment for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, and documentation of images to record anatomic, pathologic, and physiologic data for interpretation by the physician.
- Exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of the diagnostic exam
- Independently operating ultrasound equipment to produce images that are of diagnostic quality, evaluating the acquired images and communicating findings with the physician(s) and/or medical professional(s).
- Perform appropriate QA procedures, and practice a high level of medical ethics.
- Facilitates diagnostic results by obtaining, reviewing, and bringing together pertinent patient history, physical examination and supporting clinical data.
- Comforts patients by explaining procedures; assisting patient in proper positioning.
- Ensures the ultrasound images produced are properly stored and reported on. Maintains equipment and software by following operating instructions; performing quality control checks of equipment; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance procedures; backing up computer software and data; calling for repairs and information technology support.
- Utilize the practice’s EMR for proper acquisition of images, reporting and physician, staff & patient communication.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Successful completion of an accredited ultrasonography program
- Must be licensed and certified in ultrasonography through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and PACS
- Basic life support (BLS) and medical terminology
- Ability to demonstrate excellent patient care and possess/express high emotional intelligence.
- Maintain complete confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment.
