Occupational Therapist | Acute | Temporary

Avera Health, a regional health system based in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a Temporary Occupational Therapist to join our Acute Care team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide evidence-based occupational therapy services to patients in an acute hospital setting, focusing on restoring function, promoting safety, and supporting safe discharge planning.

Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals, you will complete timely evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver hands-on interventions that address activities of daily living, functional mobility, cognition, and upper extremity function. You will perform thorough assessments, recommend appropriate adaptive equipment, educate patients and families, and document care in the electronic medical record in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards.
