Job Description

Position: Oil & Gas AttorneyLocation: San Antonio, TX

I am partnering directly with leadership at a well-respected, energy-focused law firm with deep roots in Texas oil and gas law. The firm is seeking an Oil & Gas Attorney for its San Antonio office to handle complex energy and real property disputes for operators, working interest owners, and other industry participants. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with highly respected trial lawyers on high-stakes energy litigation, arbitration, and commercial disputes, with a clear path for long-term growth in an industry-focused practice.

The salary for this role is market-competitive and commensurate with experience, with generous performance-based bonuses.

What We Need

  • 3–7 years of experience with a primary focus on oil and gas litigation preferred

  • Previous oil and gas litigation experience is required

  • Strong litigation skills, including motion practice, written discovery, depositions, and case strategy

  • Experience handling lease, royalty, contract, and related real property disputes in the energy context

  • Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating with senior energy litigators

  • Active Texas Bar license in good standing

  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills

What You’ll Do

  • Handle oil and gas and related energy litigation matters from inception through resolution

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery in complex commercial and real property disputes

  • Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, trials, and arbitrations as part of a focused energy litigation team

  • Work directly with firm leadership on strategy for significant client matters, including operators and working interest owners

  • Coordinate with transactional and title attorneys where needed to support litigation strategy in disputes involving title, leasehold rights, and mineral ownership
