- Oil and Fluid Services: Draining engine oil, replacing oil filters, and topping off fluids (brake, power steering, coolant, washer fluid).
- Tire Maintenance: Rotating, mounting, balancing, and repairing tires, as well as adjusting tire pressure.
- Lubrication: Applying grease to vehicle components, such as suspension and wheel bearings.
- Inspections: Conducting multi-point inspections of the engine, underbody, and vehicle parts to detect potential repairs.
- Customer Service: Discussing service needs, explaining, and selling additional services to customers.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to safety protocols.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Skills: Ability to operate tools and machinery (lifts, grease guns, impact wrenches).
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift over 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Experience: Previous automotive maintenance experience is preferred but not always required for entry-level roles.
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license is required, with additional tire/automotive certifications being a plus.
