Job Description
About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Analyst to ensure accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting of volumetric and quality data for oil, gas, and liquid hydrocarbons. This role involves validating flow data, reconciling system imbalances, and ensuring all measurement activities comply with contractual and regulatory standards. This role requires the candidate to work on-site at our clients' office in San Antonio, TX.Responsibilities:
- Data Validation & Editing: Utilize FLOWCAL to monitor, validate, and edit hourly and daily measurement data from field devices (RTUs, Flow Computers).
- System Balancing: Analyze and maintain Lost & Unaccounted (L&U) gas records. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between field SCADA, accounting systems, and custody transfer points.
- Monthly Closing: Coordinate the month-end closing process by finalizing volumetric data for billing and revenue accounting.
- Quality Analysis: Review gas sampling results to ensure BTU values and hydrocarbon compositions meet contract specifications.
- Field Support & Troubleshooting: Act as a liaison for field technicians to troubleshoot equipment issues, such as transmitter failures or communication gaps in SCADA.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good critical thinking and communication skills
- Achieving 100% on-time completion of monthly volumetric closings with the capacity to meet strict deadlines.
- Education: Bachelor's or associate degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or a related technical field; a High School Diploma with relevant work experience will also be considered .
- Mastery of MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Proficiency in industry-standard software: FLOWCAL, SCADA (CygNet/Ignition), or TESTit.
- Knowledge of measurement hardware: Orifice meters, Ultrasonic meters, and Coriolis meters.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as SQL, Python, R
- Creating Dashboards using Data Vizualization software e.g. Power BI, Tableau
