Job Description

Job Purpose:

The On Site ASI Academic Coach is a part-time position. The Academic Coach works with girls in a classroom environment providing academic coaching and support to girls in the Pittsburgh area in grades 3-12 to increase academic achievement. Academic Coaches have a wide skill range that includes ELA, math, science, foreign language, SPED, and others. Academic Coaches work with students on skill-building, homework assistance, essay writing and college prep. Academic coaching takes place on an individual or group level based upon the need of the student

Position Summary:

Provide ongoing academic support to the girls in across the programs.
Plan effective instruction that supports academic growth and provide weekly submission of lesson plans.
Work with afterschool staff and supervisors to integrate academic learning into the daily routines
Bi-Weekly submission of progress notes
Effective communication with parents, team members and support agencies
Actively participates in all required team meetings, trainings, and supervisory sessions. Meets regularly with supervisor, communicates openly needs, concerns, and ideas; utilizes feedback given in supervisory sessions.
Performs in accordance with established system-wide competencies and receives satisfactory performance evaluations annually
Performs other duties as assigned

Work Environment:

Works in an environment with girls in grades 3-12 with adverse backgrounds. Staff must be prepared to engage youth and be able to problem solve.
