Paladin Consulting is currently hiring an Operating Risk Amended Return Representativeto join our team working remotely within the state of New York. We treat you like you are part of the family.Job Title: Operating Risk Amended Return Representative Work Location: Remote Duration: Long-term contract with option to extend Hours: Monday-Friday starting at 7:30, some flexibility Education/Experience Required: High School diploma A minimum of 4 years experience in customer service or payrollJob Description & Responsibilities :
- Provides internal and external customer service and communication with timely research and preparation of amended payroll tax returns to ensure clients corrected federal state and local filings are filed accurately
- Communicates with clients regarding funds required to be paid late or refunded as a result of amended payroll tax returns and confirms fees when necessary
- Prepares and files amended tax returns for current and previous years using specific tax forms as requested via the OP0099 to balance clients federal state and local accounts Utilizes multiple systems to ensure accuracy and compliance as needed to include 1099 ETC Bloomberg BNA Core Advanced Preview Taxpay and others as necessary
- Researches and resolves client field and system problems to ensure accurate corrections to payroll reports and tax returns
- Researches penalty issues in a timely manner to determine root cause on various platforms including Sure Payroll Advantage
- Uses this information to determine most appropriate means of penalty resolution
- Provides research and response to penalty issues to client and field personnel if applicable
- Applies judgment to determine the appropriate steps for resolving all issues
- Actively identifies and participates in penalty prevention enhancements and makes prevention recommendations to leadership to drive systemic changes
- Determines billing fees/revenue associated with preparation of amended return to ensure standardized and consistent billing is achieved Identifies when a requested billing exception is appropriate and seeks input from managers on sensitive issues
- Meets revenue initiative and goals as set by management
- Communicates and responds directly with the clients regarding billing fees filing of tax returns and collections and payments that are associated with the preparation of amended returns to keep clients informed of required actions and promote consistent and excelled customer service
- Identifies root cause to assist in trend analysis and processing efficiencies
- Recommends process improvements and efficiencies to increase revenue or productivity
- Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with clients agencies and coworkers to promote clientquality service image
- Maintains knowledge of changes in various product offerings regulatory changes policy changes and industry developments
- Assists in regular review of programs and systems and initiates requests for enhancements to improve efficiency
- Assists in regular review of documentation to ensure accuracy of updates/revisions
- Provides support and training to team members
- Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the positions function
- High School diploma A minimum of 4 years experience in customer service or payroll required
- Experience with tax returns highly preferred
- Microsoft Word Excel and Access knowledge is preferred
