This role supports the continued growth, enhancement, and delivery of IRRA's operational risk review program by coordinating complex review activities, leading issue validations, supporting strategic projects, and using data-informed analysis to strengthen ORR conclusions, reporting, and effective challenge. ORR provides independent, risk-based review and effective challenge of the Company's operational risk, inclusive of technology risk, and operational risk-related processes and controls. In-scope risk categories include Fraud, Operations, People, Security of Physical Assets, Third Party, Business Resiliency, Systems, Cyber/Information Security, Legal, Model, Conduct, Data Management, and Fiduciary. Objective risk mitigation, process, and control review activities include planning and scoping, design and execution, reporting and rating, issue creation, and issue validation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute operational risk reviews, issue validations, continuous monitoring activities, and other ORR projects in accordance with established methodology, timelines, quality expectations, and stakeholder commitments.
  • Support ORR process improvement, guidance material development (e.g., procedures, job aids, and templates), data enablement, reporting enhancements, and other initiatives that improve consistency, quality, efficiency, and transparency across ORR execution.
  • Coordinate review activities across Analysts and stakeholders, including planning work, clarifying roles, monitoring progress, reviewing work product, and ensuring timely escalation of issues, dependencies, or quality concerns.
  • Lead issue validation activities by assessing whether corrective actions address root cause, whether remediation is sustainably implemented, and whether evidence supports closure or requires continued challenge.
  • Evaluate processes, controls, documentation, systems, data, and evidence to identify control weaknesses, process gaps, remediation deficiencies, and risk exposure within the operational risk and control environment.
  • Develop and review audit-ready workpapers, testing support, analysis, reporting materials, issue language, validation conclusions, and executive-ready summaries that are clear, complete, and supportable.
  • Use data, reporting, and analytical techniques to identify trends, anomalies, population/sample considerations, emerging risks, evidence gaps, and opportunities to improve review coverage or validation consistency. Including dashboard creation and maintenance (e.g., Power BI, Excel, etc.)
  • Apply credible and constructive effective challenge with business line stakeholders and Risk Management partners to influence sustainable solutions that mitigate operational risks.
  • Communicate review results, issue validation outcomes, significant risks, and escalation items through clear verbal updates and concise written deliverables to the ORR Team Lead, Manager, Senior Manager, and other stakeholders.
  • Coach and provide work direction to supporting Analysts on assigned review or validation activities, including feedback on evidence evaluation, documentation quality, data analysis, communication, and issue escalation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Typically more than six years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of operational risk, control frameworks, issue management, remediation validation, and risk-based review practices.
  • Advanced Risk, Compliance, and Audit competencies, including the ability to evaluate complex evidence, apply sound judgment, and document supportable conclusions.
  • Advanced understanding of business operations, products, services, systems, data flows, processes, and associated risks.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate data, identify trends or anomalies, assess remediation sufficiency, and connect evidence to risk-based conclusions.
  • Strong process facilitation and project management skills, including the ability to lead complex assignments, manage competing priorities, and drive timely execution in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong business acumen and credibility to help business line(s) proactively identify risks, address control gaps, and strengthen risk management practices.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce concise, executive-ready messaging and influence stakeholders through effective challenge.
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related reporting, data, or workflow tools.
