Job Summary

The Operational Training Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training programs that support employee onboarding, development, and performance. This role ensures all hourly operations associates receive the necessary training to perform their jobs safely, effectively, and in alignment with company standards. The Operational Training Lead partners closely with leadership to identify skill gaps and drive continuous improvement through structured learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

Training Program Management

  • Facilitate Training program and facilitate training aspect of onboarding with new associates
  • Evaluate ongoing training effectiveness and continuously improve program content and delivery methods.

Onboarding & Orientation

  • Lead training portion of new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Partner with hiring managers and supervisors to ensure job-specific training plans are executed.
  • Monitor onboarding progress and provide support to new associates during their transition period and continued support for tenured employees progressing through skill blocks.

Content Development

  • Develop, update, and maintain training materials, including presentations, SOP's, job aids, e-learning modules.
  • Ensure all training content aligns with company policies, compliance requirements, and operational standards.
  • Standardize training processes across departments where applicable.

Employee Development

  • Support the development of hourly associates by identifying skill gaps and recommending training solutions.
  • Assist in building career development pathways and cross-training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Training Records & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records for all associates
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and collaborate with department heads to ensure compliance with external regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, safety training, quality)
  • Track certifications, retraining requirements, and training completion metrics.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with HR, Safety, and Operations teams to align training with business needs.
  • Provide regular reporting on training metrics, participation, and effectiveness.
  • Serve as a resource for supervisors and employees regarding training-related questions.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple training initiatives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping
  • Ability to work across multiple shifts as needed (required)
  • Adheres to wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Consistently follows all safety policies, procedures and training

Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10 years of manufacturing experience or
  • 5+ Blown film experience preferred.
  • Lean certification preferred.

Work Environment

The Operational Training Lead position involves a combination of office-related tasks with frequent and extended manufacturing floor time.

Physical Demands

Work in manufacturing environment for up to 12 hours. Frequent Standing and walking; Frequent Stoop and Squat; Frequent Bending and some Kneeling and crawling; Occasional bending and twisting; Frequent stair climbing; Pushing/Pulling 30 - 50 pounds of force; Occasional reaching; Repetitive use of wrist, hands and fingers; Frequent use of shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles.
