Operations Accountant Overview
We are seeking an Operations Accountant to bridge accounting and operations. This role drives financial insight, inventory accuracy, and process improvements while serving as the internal ERP (BisTrack) expert.
Operations Accountant Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial and operational performance; develop KPIs and identify improvement opportunities
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Oversee inventory processes including cycle counts, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution
- Manage cost analysis (materials, labor, overhead) and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Serve as BisTrack ERP subject matter expert; ensure data accuracy and train users
- Lead process improvements and support system/technology implementations
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, and purchasing to improve profitability
- Prepare reports and ensure compliance with internal controls and GAAP
Operations Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-7 years of accounting experience (manufacturing, construction, or building materials preferred)
- Experience with inventory/cost accounting strongly preferred
- Strong ERP and advanced Excel skills
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to communicate with non-financial teams
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
Work Environment
- Office-based with regular interaction in warehouse/production settings
- Weekly visits to local operational sites in Middle TN
