Job Description
Job Title: Operations and Maintenance Technician Location: Wilmington, Delaware Type: 6 month Contract Compensation: $33.00 - $36.75 Work Model: Onsite – onsite Per Diem: $200/day mob/demob
Responsibilities
- Perform and assist in the maintenance and operation of plant equipment under limited supervision
- Operate control room(s) and oversee work of contract personnel in the absence of supervision at top step of progression
- Observe, record, and evaluate data; maintain and review operational and maintenance logs
- Read blueprints, instruction manuals, and other documents for proper operation, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment
- Work alone or with others as required, communicating fully with all organizational personnel
- Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping
- Act upon emergency procedures to ensure safety and continuity of service during non-routine situations
- Undertake outside or inside duties, including shift work, scheduled work, overtime, or irregular hours as necessary
- Ensure adequate turnover of information between shifts
- Possibly oversee work of others of similar or lesser classifications
- GED, High School diploma or vocational schooling
- At least four (4) years' experience in power plant maintenance or operations, or equivalent experience
- In-depth knowledge of utility or industrial facility materials and practices (preferred)
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Planning and organizing skills
- Safety awareness and adherence to policies and procedures
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to create a climate conducive to team success and cooperate fully with all personnel
- Must possess a valid driver's license at all times
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, do heavy lifting, and distinguish colors; physical capabilities as required for the role
- Ability to obtain and maintain valid TWIC credentials within six (6) months of hire
