About the Role
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Operations Compliance Specialist I to support internal auditing, regulatory compliance, and process assessments. In this entry‑level role, you will help ensure alignment with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), and internal company standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to build a foundational career in compliance, auditing, and operations within the aerospace and defense sector.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Audit Support
- Assist in conducting internal audits to assess operational effectiveness, control accuracy, and process compliance.
- Review and analyze data to identify deficiencies or non‑compliance with FAR/DFAR requirements and internal procedures.
- Document audit findings and prepare detailed reports for management review.
- Support implementation and verification of corrective actions for compliance issues.
Documentation & Process Maintenance
- Assist in maintaining and updating audit procedures, compliance documentation, and internal guidelines.
- Collaborate across departments to gather data and materials required for audits and assessments.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with operational, financial, and compliance teams to execute audit activities.
- Support process improvements that strengthen internal controls and compliance practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Basic knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations.
- Foundational analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
- Exposure to audit procedures, techniques, and general compliance practices.
- Proficiency in data entry and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or professional experience in compliance, internal audit, or a regulatory role.
- Background in the Aerospace & Defense industry, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military.
Essential Functions
- Ability to work extensively on a computer.
- Hand and finger dexterity for data entry and document handling.
- Ability to read detailed compliance documents and analyze reports accurately.
- Occasional travel for site visits or audit activities.
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
- Capability to make informed compliance‑driven decisions.
- Strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to stay current with industry standards, regulatory updates, and compliance technologies.
