Job Description:

High-potential engineering leader capable responsible for immediately strengthening equipment reliability, capital discipline, and systems-driven execution at the plant.  Explicit ownership of enterprise systems, capital justification, and vendor selection processes.

Equipment Reliability and Technical Leadership:

  • Own the mechanical and/or electrical reliability strategy for the plant
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for chronic downtime, quality losses, and safety incident
  • Drive improvements in preventive and predictive maintenance effectiveness

ERP & Maintenance Systems Ownership (SAP ECC/ MVP 1 to SAP S/4HANA):

  • Own and lead the plant-level transition of the maintenance function from SAP ECC / MVP1 to SAP S/4HANA
  • Serve as the primary business owner for maintenance processes during the S/4HANA migration
  • Own asset master data, equipment hierarchies, BOMs, task lists, maintenance plans, and work order structures
  • Lead definition and standardization of PMs, notifications, and maintenance workflows in S/4HANA
  • Lead maintenance-related user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Own training, adoption, and post–go-live usage of S/4HANA maintenance functionality
  • Use S/4HANA data and reporting to drive reliability, planning, and cost improvements

Capital Projects and Financial Justification (ROI Ownership):

  • Own the development of capital project business cases from concept through approval
  • Develop full financial justifications including ROI, payback period, NPV (where applicable), and total cost of ownership (TCO)
  • Quantify benefits such as uptime improvement, labor reduction, safety risk mitigation, quality improvement, energy savings, and maintenance cost avoidance
  • Prepare approval-ready capital packages aligned with corporate governance requirement

RFQ and Bid Package Development (End-to-End Ownership):

  • Own the end-to-end development of RFQs and bid packages for capital equipment, systems, and engineering services
  • Translate operational needs and conceptual designs into competitive, well-defined RFQ documents
  • Develop bid packages from initial concept and design through final bid collection and comparison
  • Define technical scope, performance requirements, assumptions, exclusions, and integration constraints
  • Lead technical evaluation of bids and vendor alignment prior to award

Operational Leadership & Development:

  • Provide technical leadership and escalation support to production and maintenance teams
  • Coach supervisors and technicians in structured problem-solving and decision-making
  • Participate in S&OP, staffing, and operational planning discussions
  • Gradually assume broader operational leadership responsibilities as readiness is demonstrated
  • Comply with all applicable customer, safety, ISO/IATF 16949 QMS, and ISO14001 EMS requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, Experience and TRAINING

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience: 5+ years’ of manufacturing experience in a plant environment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on troubleshooting and capital project experience
  • Demonstrated people leadership and plant-level responsibility
  • Strong understanding of the plastics industry.
  • Familiar with an inventory management system, preferably SAP.

The salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
