Reporting directly to the President, you'll serve as the operational leader of the business, overseeing field operations, scheduling, resource planning, estimating support, and project execution while helping drive profitability, safety, and continued growth.

What You'll Do as the Operations Manager:

  • Lead all day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget
  • Manage project scheduling, workforce planning, equipment allocation, and resource utilization across multiple concurrent projects
  • Direct Field Supervisors, Lead Operators, and field personnel while providing coaching, mentorship, accountability, and performance management
  • Partner with the President to establish operational priorities and support the company's continued growth
  • Oversee job cost performance, labor productivity, equipment utilization, and operational profitability
  • Review project plans, specifications, and field requirements to develop execution strategies and support estimating efforts
  • Prepare, review, and approve change orders, additional work requests, and operational purchasing activities
  • Coordinate closely with estimating, administration, and accounting to ensure accurate job costing, documentation, and project handoffs
  • Build strong relationships with general contractors, owners, subcontractors, and project stakeholders while serving as a trusted operational partner
  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the field organization
  • Monitor project performance, proactively identify operational challenges, and implement solutions before they impact schedules or profitability
  • Support recruiting, hiring, training, and development of field personnel while building the next generation of operational leaders

Must-Haves as the Operations Manager:

  • 8+ years of construction operations experience, including at least 3 years in a Foreman, Superintendent, Operations, or similar leadership role
  • Strong background in concrete cutting, concrete coring, demolition, heavy civil, specialty contracting, or closely related construction disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple crews, projects, schedules, equipment, and operational resources simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of construction estimating, job costing, budgeting, production rates, and field operations
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, hold people accountable, and develop employees
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable balancing office responsibilities with regular visits to active job sites
  • High level of ownership, urgency, and commitment to operational excellence

Nice-to-Haves as the Operations Manager:

  • Experience with concrete sawing, drilling, demolition, or specialty concrete services
  • Construction Management, Engineering, or related education
  • Experience supporting estimating or preconstruction activities
  • Public infrastructure, transportation, airport, industrial, or government project experience
  • Knowledge of project management and scheduling software
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives within construction operations

Our Client Offers:

  • Competitive base salary of $150,000-$180,000, depending on experience
  • Opportunity to serve as the President's right-hand leader and help shape the future of a highly respected construction company
  • Leadership role with direct influence over operations, profitability, and strategic growth
  • Stable, well-established company with more than 50 years of industry leadership throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region
  • Opportunity to work on high-profile commercial, industrial, municipal, transportation, and federal construction projects
  • Collaborative, family-oriented culture built on integrity, professionalism, and long-term relationships
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement benefits
  • Long-term career growth with the opportunity to become one of the organization's most influential leaders
