Job Description
Operations/Project Management Manager
The Operations Manager will oversee daily production, safety, quality, and maintenance activities within the facility. They will direct and coordinate activities of employees engaged in packaging products and materials for storage and shipment. They will also coordinate production activities and requirements with Customer Service and other departments as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manager plant operations including Production, Warehouse, Laboratory, Distillation, Maintenance, Personnel, Inventory Control, Finance and other departments
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Process Safety Management (PSM)
Oversee production activities, scheduling and inventory control to meet customer demand and minimize downtime
Ensure all production lines are adequately supplied with raw materials and packaging supplies
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, Sustainability and other process improvement methodologies
Identify areas where efficiencies can be achieved; coordinate implementation of identified efficiencies
Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and manage reliability of equipment
Collaborate with Quality Assurance, EH&S, and Supply Chain to ensure cross-functional alignment
Initiate, monitor and implement corrective actions, deviations, and change controls in the Quality System
Participate in Quality System audits
Manage budgets, cost control, and operational efficiencies
Ensure proper training and documentation for safe handling of hazardous chemicals and materials
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field; Master's degree is a PLUS
5+ years of experience in Chemical manufacturing environment; 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
Knowledge of chemical processing equipment, batch and/or continuous operations, and regulatory compliance
Knowledge of EHS programs
Familiar with manufacturing and maintenance software; ERP systems
Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification is preferred
LEAN manufacturing certification is preferred
