Job Description

Job Description:

Research on uncertainty quantification and decision making under uncertainty will be conducted. In particular, we will quantify the epistemic uncertainty in sliced-normal distributions estimated from data to perform design using chance-constrained optimization and robust optimization. Data-driven, risk-averse and risk-agnostic formulations will be explored. Furthermore, we will develop techniques aiming to refine/reduce the model of the epistemic uncertainty in order to improve the system's performance the most. These ideas will be exercised by synthesizing a guidance navigation and control law for autonomous safe flight.

Requirements: Operations Research, Mathematics or Engineering graduate with a focus on robust optimization, tail-risk analysis, and imprecise probability modeling
