Our client is seeking a motivated Operations Specialist Assistant to help drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement on the production floor. This is a great opportunity to grow your career and make a meaningful impact.Position: Operations Specialist AssistantLocation: Hastings, NE Pay: $20.00/hour (up to $25.00 based on experience)Schedule: Monday Friday, 8: 00 AM 4: 30 PMLanguage Requirement: Bilingual (English & Spanish) requiredWhat You ll Do
- Support daily production operations across aluminum melting, die casting, trimming, and finishing
- Monitor and optimize processes to meet production, quality, and delivery goals
- Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S implementation and sustainment
- Collect and analyze production data using Excel (charts, pivot tables, Pareto analysis, trend reports)
- Collaborate with operators, team leads, and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements
- Conduct Gemba walks and audits to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to standards
- Track and report KPIs such as OEE, cycle times, scrap rates, and downtime
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including Kaizen events and root cause analysis
- Maintain accurate documentation (logs, audits, work instructions, reports)
- Promote a safe, compliant, and inclusive work environment
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate s or bachelor s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred)
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience (metal, foundry, die casting, or similar environment preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Lean principles and hands-on 5S experience
- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, data analysis)
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Data-driven mindset with attention to detail
- Willingness to work hands-on in production when needed
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, heat, lifting up to 50 pounds)
- Experience with die casting equipment, furnaces, or trim presses
- Familiarity with quality tools (SPC, control charts) or continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Kaizen)
- Experience with ERP/MES systems
