Position Summary
The Operations Support position will be responsible for executing all day-to-day duties required to support the operation of their assigned facility. A hands-on position, Operations Support will assist with all aspects of the warehouse operations including manufacturing planning/scheduling, reporting, support of the customer service and inventory functions, customer order fulfillment, cycle counting, and other duties as assigned by leadership.
Shift: Monday-Friday 6am-4pm
Pay: $50k-$65k/year DOE
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with health, safety and environmental policies, rules and regulations and provides coaching and development and communicates SOP non-conformance to the Operations Manager on a timely basis.
- Ensures all tasks take place in a safe and accurate way following established safety protocols and SOPs.
- Uses judgement and keeping the best interests of the company in mind, manages competing priorities between sales and operations that are transparent to the customer and support a team approach.
- Provides guidance, support, and motivation to other warehouse employees.
- Guarantees completes accurate, timely and well communicated transactions that support the inventory financial and location accuracy goals. This includes movement of product from the warehouse to support production, order fulfillment and performing properly documented adjustments as needed.
- Procures special order inventory from other L.J. Smith sites.
- Creates, enters, and receives purchase and warehouse transfer orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensures company assets are safeguarded and expenses contained to better ensure facility profitably and efficiency goals are met.
- Pulls material for orders using an order picker, stand-up reach truck or sit-down lift truck.
- Delivery of orders using the non-CDL company truck.
- Serves as a back up to their supervisor when required.
- May provide master schedule and work orders/VA's for products to be manufactured to production areas so that optimal run sequences and efficiencies can be achieved.
- Obtains information on production activity, prepares summary production reports and ensures master schedule is maintained.
- Quotes products as requested by CSRs and/or customers, and if applicable, creates new products, calculates, and communicates costs to Ohio-based product specialist.
- Performs warehouse/distribution and customer service activities ensuring communications are thorough, professional, and timely within the organization and with the customer.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
