Job Description

JOB SUMMARYPerforms a variety of production electrical and mechanical assembly and inspection operations at an intermediate to advanced level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Wire, solder, and assemble fabricated components to make electrical and mechanical assemblies.Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements.Repair assemblies that fail to meet requirements.Utilize established Best Known Methods on multiple steps and product types.Meet established build time and quality standards on both basic, intermediate, and advanced tasks.Follow assembly work instructions, drawings, quality assurance procedures, and directives from department leads.Report problems with work instructions, procedures, mechanical parts, electrical continuity, or anything else negatively affecting quality to the Lead or Supervisor.Organize and complete work assignments in a timely manner, limiting unproductive time.Seek to improve skill set and learn new assembly methods.Contribute improvement ideas and respond to change productively. Provide input for work instructions.Maintain department cleanliness. Follow all company safety policies and Quality Assurance requirements. Work overtime as required. Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to assemble and solder small components utilizing a microscope.

Ability to accurately identify components.Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handling frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.Intermediate verbal communications skills.Must be able to read and follow English work instruction.Excellent hand/eye coordination and dexterity. Strong mechanical aptitude for use of tools in production operations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring drawings. Intermediate problem solving and interpersonal skills. Must be detail oriented, accurate and methodical.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or equivalent is required.Minimum two (2) years assembly experience, including one (1) year of soldering experience in a manufacturing facility.Previous experience soldering under a microscope required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Soldering or Electronic Assembly certificate from a vocational technical institute is desired.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Closed toe close heeled shoes required on manufacturing floor.
