Retina Centers of Alabama is looking for an experienced ophthalmic technician to join our growing team. Ideal candidate would have 2+ years of experience working in an ophthalmology office – COA/COT a plus!
As an ophthalmic technician in our practice you'll be required to:
- Be highly motivated and willing to grow with the practice in a long-term position
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of ocular anatomy, ocular conditions, and ocular medications
- Be experienced in general work-up of patient (record, review, and verify complete patient medical/ocular history, chief complaint, visual acuities, lensometry, EOMs, pupil assessment, manifest refraction, basic slit lamp exam, tonometry, instilling ocular medications)
- Be proficient on computer and have experience with EHR programs
- Have accurate and efficient typing skills
- Be able to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment

- Ability to listen, type, and record information in real time during exam
- Flexibility in job assignments
- Proficiency in manual refractions
