Job Description
Ophthalmic Technician Salisbury, MD Pay From: $25 per hour MUST: The Optician will have experience: Must have effective interpersonal skills Strong knowledge of optical products, lens technology (e.g., progressives, high-index), and fitting techniques. Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time Must have excellent customer service skills Must accurately transcribe words and numbers Must be able to work and interact effectively within a host store environment, adhering to and promoting all host store policies, procedures, and regulations Must have sales experience DUTIES: The Optician will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Increasing the overall sales at the office Candidate will assist in dispensing eyeglasses and contacts lenses to customers Perform duties in such a manner as not to jeopardize the safety and health of themselves, fellow- associates, customers, the public, or the environment Fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses by following prescriptions that are written by optometrists or ophthalmologists Ensure all intra-web functions are done daily including cancelled job status, backorder list, and problem jobs Correctly operate equipment necessary to adjust eyewear Coordinate the delivery of eyewear products to customers according to Company guidelines Listen and respond immediately with an appropriate level of concern to all customer issues Analyze, solve, and correct customer service issues Check status and notify customers when orders are delayed Examine prescriptions in order to determine lens specifications Assist patients in frame selection, recommend lens coatings, lenses and frames for eyeglasses (taking into considerations the habits, occupation and facial features of the customer) Verify exactness of finished lens spectacles Shape or reshape frames as needed Considerable patience, care and skill are required to fit contact lenses Responsible for keeping patient prescription records, work orders, tracking inventory, making payments and other administrative duties Other duties as assigned *Quadrant, Inc. is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
