OPTICAL TECH
Childrens Vision Center | Tulsa, OKPay: $16$22/hour | Full-Time
A well-established childrens vision center in Tulsa is seeking an experienced, friendly, and dependable Optical Tech to join their team! The ideal candidate will have previous optical experience, enjoy working with children and families, and take pride in providing excellent patient care in a professional, family-focused environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Optical Tech will work closely with patients, families, and clinical staff to support the daily operations of the optical and clinical areas. This position will assist with pre-testing, patient flow, measurements, and other optical and clinical duties as needed.
The ideal candidate will have previous optical experience, strong communication skills, a professional appearance, and the ability to work comfortably with pediatric patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform pre-testing and other basic optical/clinical testing as trained.
Assist with patient intake and prepare patients for their examination.
Take accurate measurements and document patient information.
Assist with optical duties and eyewear-related needs as needed.
Help maintain smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
Communicate effectively with patients, parents, guardians, and clinical staff.
Explain basic procedures and instructions to patients and families.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and ready for use.
Follow all clinic procedures, safety standards, and HIPAA guidelines.
Provide friendly, professional, and compassionate customer service.
Assist with other clinical and administrative duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous optical experience required.
Previous experience in an optometry, ophthalmology, optical, or medical office preferred.
Comfortable working with children of all ages.
Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Dependable and punctual.
Comfortable learning and using new equipment and computer systems.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Basic computer skills required.
PROFESSIONAL APPEARANCE
This position requires a polished, professional appearance appropriate for a pediatric healthcare environment. Employees are expected to follow the clinic's dress and grooming standards, which include no visible tattoos or body piercings and no unnatural hair colors while working. Reasonable accommodations will be considered as required by applicable law.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Pay: $16$22/hour, depending on experience
