Responsibilities:

As a Consulting Optician Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Assisting the Consulting Optician in providing expert advice to patients regarding eyewear selection and vision care solutions.
2. Managing patient records accurately and ensuring data integrity while entering information into the system.
3. Collaborating with the healthcare team to provide top-notch service to our patients.
4. Facilitating the smooth running of the optician’s office by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
5. Providing exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries, handling complaints, and providing information about our services and products.
6. Assisting in the selection, fitting, and dispensing of glasses, contact lenses, and other optical aids.
7. Keeping up-to-date with the latest eyewear trends, lens technologies, and advancements in the field of optometry.
8. Assisting with inventory management, including ordering and restocking eyewear and supplies as necessary.
9. Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Consulting Optician Assistant position should possess the following qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in an optician’s office or optical retail environment.
2. Proficiency in data entry with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
3. Exceptional customer service skills with a patient-focused approach.
4. Basic knowledge of eyewear products, lens options, and vision care solutions.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and other healthcare professionals.
6. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
7. Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards.
8. High school diploma or equivalent is required. A certificate or associate degree in opticianry or a related field is preferred.
