Job Description
The role involves supporting branch offices and collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance with SRO regulations and company policies. Responsibilities include:
- Addressing inquiries related to SRO regulations and company policies.
- Collaborating with departments such as P&S, Margin, New Accounts, and other administrative teams to resolve compliance issues.
- Analyzing and assessing Option Account Information and Agreement Forms to ensure alignment with the firm's client suitability standards and investment goals.
- Making decisions to approve, deny, or adjust options strategy levels as needed.
- Developing and contributing to the implementation of new company policies and procedures concerning options trading.
- Examining exception reports that highlight option trades not aligned with clients' suitability and investment goals.
- Working in partnership with IT to develop new exception reports targeting potentially problematic options activity, such as excessive trading, concentrated positions, and significant option losses.
- Alerting branch offices to potential issues and escalating them when necessary.
- Collaborating with IT and the Margin Department to integrate hard options trading blocks into the Order Management System (OMS) to prevent trades exceeding clients' compliance-approved suitability levels.
- Evaluating and authorizing advertising materials related to options trading.
- Reviewing daily LOPR Exception Reports to identify any reporting deficiencies and working with Purchase and Sales and IT to resolve issues.
- Participating in various projects on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Skills Required
- Strong understanding of SRO regulations and firm policies.
- Excellent analytical skills for evaluating client suitability and investment objectives.
- Ability to create and implement policies and procedures effectively.
- Proficient in working with IT systems and developing exception reports.
- Strong collaboration skills, particularly with IT and Margin departments.
- Experience in reviewing and approving marketing and advertising materials.
- Attention to detail in monitoring and resolving reporting discrepancies.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
