Location: Blackfeet Service Unit, Browning, MTAddress: 760 Hospital Cir, Browning, MT 59417Start Date: ASAP (after credentialing ~60 days)POP End Date: 01/18/2027Schedule: Full-TimePay Rate: $133 – $135/hrEstimated Weekly Pay:$5,320 – $5,400/week(40 hrs/week)
Job Summary
Provide comprehensive optometry services including eye exams, diagnosis, treatment of visual disorders, and management of ocular diseases in a federally operated healthcare setting.
Requirements
Doctor of Optometry (OD degree) from an accredited school
Active Optometry license (any U.S. state; eligibility for reciprocity may be required)
Board certification/eligibility preferred
Minimum 2+ years clinical optometry experience preferred
Experience in primary care optometry, ocular disease management, and routine eye exams
Ability to work full-time clinical schedule in a hospital/clinic setting
Credentials
OD (Doctor of Optometry) – Required
State Optometry License – Required (active or eligible)
DEA registration – May be required depending on prescribing scope
BLS – Preferred (facility dependent)
Setting / Work Environment
Outpatient clinic / hospital-based eye care
Federal healthcare system (IHS – Blackfeet Service Unit)
Mixed adult and pediatric patient population
Independent clinical decision-making expected
