Summary:
Responsible for purchasing, maintaining adequate inventory levels and availability of supplies. Troubleshoot supply issues and perform duties of Surgical Technologist.
Responsibilities:
1. Purchasing/Inventory Criteria A: Processes purchasing of specialty supplies required for patient care in the operating room in order to ensure continuity of daily operations. Purchasing/Inventory Criteria B: Maintains necessary inventory levels at operating room warehouse to ensure the continuity of daily operations. Purchasing/Inventory Criteria C: Maintains accurate records for inventories, orders, returns/exchanges, and repairs in order to document cost effective utilization of resources. Purchasing/Inventory Criteria D: Supervises the storage, control and issuance of supplies to ensure the continuity of daily operations. 2. Budget/Scheduling/Charge Capture Criteria A: Assists in the evaluation/inservicing of new products and equipment. Budget/Scheduling/Charge Capture Criteria B: Assists in the preparation and monitoring of the non-salary budget to achieve cost containment and optimum financial performance. Budget/Scheduling/Charge Capture Criteria C: Monitors advanced scheduling of cases to ensure the availability of special equipment and supplies for the continuity of daily operations. Budget/Scheduling/Charge Capture Criteria D: Monitors, maintains and updates the pricing of the charge capture process in order to optimize reimbursement and to validate price increases. 3. Compliance Criteria A: Maintains clinical competency in order to support the operating room staff and to remain cross trained in the role of Instrument Coordinator. Compliance Criteria B: Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. Compliance Criteria C: Performs other duties as assigned. 4. Required: This position requires a minimum formal education of Associate Degree and minimum of three years job-related experience.
Certified Surgical Technologist preferred. Minimum Experience: three years Computer Skills Required: Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel. Knowledge of People Soft preferred.
