We are staffing positions to cover our operating room hours Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No nights, weekends, or call!

Job Description:Main function: Performs essential procedural support duties by preparing, organizing, and maintaining sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with approved procedures and aseptic techniques. Assists the Surgeon with passing instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation. Ensures patient and physician needs are met by monitoring equipment functionality, maintaining supply availability, communicating patient status, and promptly addressing any breaks in sterile protocol. Requirements: High school diploma or GED certification; Completion of surgical scrub technician course; Operating room experience; Strong ethical and moral character referencesDuties & Responsibilities:a) Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedureb) Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians’ preference cardsc) Inspects equipment for proper working conditiond) Follows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room procedurese) Adheres to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the proceduref) Arranges instruments according to given procedureg) Confirms that instruments work properlyh) Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delaysi) Reports observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and takes action according to policyj) Correctly uses, cares for, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, supplies, and equipment as directedk) Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safetyl) Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room for immediate access during procedurem) Assists in storing and stocking supplies as directedn) Maintains and updates instrument cards and surgeons’ preference cardso) Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physicianp) Accurately advises others responsible for care of the patient about the patient’s status
