Job Description
We are looking for an Orthotic Fitter to support patient care by evaluating, fitting, and adjusting orthotic devices for individuals with mobility or musculoskeletal needs in Queens, New York. This position provides hands-on training and mentorship within an orthotics and prosthetics clinical environment. The role works closely with clinicians, therapists, and healthcare providers to ensure patients receive properly fitted devices that support comfort, mobility, and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
• Evaluate patients and assist with fitting a variety of orthotic devices based on clinical recommendations
• Measure, adjust, and modify orthotic devices to ensure proper fit, function, and patient comfort
• Travel between clinical locations including offices, hospitals, nursing homes, and rehabilitation facilities
• Communicate with physicians, therapists, and clinical staff regarding patient needs and treatment plans
• Educate patients on proper device use, care, and maintenance
• Maintain accurate documentation related to patient fittings and device dispensing
• Assist clinicians and technicians with device preparation, adjustments, and follow-up care
• Ensure compliance with clinical procedures, documentation standards, and safety protocols
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Interest in orthotics, prosthetics, rehabilitation, or healthcare-related fields
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with patients in a clinical environment and maintain professionalism
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
• Ability to travel between care locations within the service area
• Athletic training, kinesiology, or healthcare experience is a plus
• Certified Orthotic Fitters are encouraged to apply
Benefits
Compensation: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour based on experience.
