Job Description
OSP Field Engineer OSP Design and Engineering for new construction. Job Responsibilities
- Planning and analysis in support of new construction for outside plant.
- Locate, sketch, and document detail information of OSP facilities: cables, poles, ground structures for long haul fiber projects.
- Identify right of way and permit requirements for proposed routes.
- Use experience and best judgement to identify issues and propose solutions.
- Update site drawings and construction drawings for various telecommunication facilities.
- Ability to read and understand railroad and other prints
- Knowledge of easement, right-of-way, and permit documents
- Experience using locate equipment for OSP projects
- 5+ Years of telecommunication OSP experience
- Experience and understanding of OSP construction techniques
- Experience in OSP design of copper and fiber optic facilities in aerial, underground, and direct buried applications is required
- Experience with City, County, State, and Railroad permit application process
- Able to travel and stay overnight if project requires.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects (example; manhole or handhole vault lids)
- MicroStation, AutoCAD and Microsoft Viso experience is a plus.
