Job Description
Summary:
The Outbound Clerk I is responsible for fulfilling outbound orders by accurately locating, preparing, and documenting materials and supplies for shipment. This entry-level role supports order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, and safety compliance within the warehouse.
Essential Functions:
- Locate and verify materials and supplies listed on outbound orders.
- Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, and securing products.
- Document shipments by recording units shipped.
- Perform inventory location accuracy audits and report discrepancies.
- Operate the forklift as needed for loading and unloading, ensuring loads are securely fastened.
- Conduct equipment inspections, supporting safe operating conditions.
- Follow all warehouse and dock safety policies strictly.
- Complete all assigned Young Living training
Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of inventory management
- Familiar with shipping documents and regulations
- Possesses physical strength to lift and move heavy boxes
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills
- Handles discrepancies or shipping problems calmly and politely
- Skilled in organization
- Ability to stack, move, arrange materials on pallets and locations
- Ability to operate motorized pallet jack, forklift and other warehouse equipment
- Ability to work with a team
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 to 12 months of experience in a warehouse setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Previous experience in shipping or warehouse procedures
- Forklift certification.
- Experience in order fulfillment and inventory management systems.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention.
Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employee's manager.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
