Outside Sales Representative - Residential Construction

Location: Newton/Needham, MA (Field-Based + Office Touchpoints)

The Absolute is a small, growing residential builder focused primarily on new construction. We're hiring an Outside Sales Representative who knows how to build relationships, open doors, and close deals the traditional way.

This is a role for a true salesperson -- someone who enjoys getting in front of people, shaking hands, following up consistently, and earning business through trust and persistence. You'll own your territory, build your book of business, and directly drive the company's growth.

If you've spent years selling in construction, building materials, home services, or related industries -- and you're proud of your numbers -- this will feel familiar in a good way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new residential construction opportunities through networking, referrals, and in-person outreach
  • Build and maintain relationships with homeowners, architects, designers, realtors, developers, and property professionals
  • Set and run initial meetings with prospective clients
  • Qualify opportunities and determine project fit
  • Present the company, capabilities, and process clearly and professionally
  • Follow up consistently until opportunities are closed or disqualified
  • Work with ownership and preconstruction to align scope, budgets, and client expectations
  • Track contacts, opportunities, and follow-ups in JobTread (Buildertrend experience also transfers well)
  • Provide weekly pipeline updates and forecasts

Qualifications

  • Proven outside sales experience (construction, building materials, or home services strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated history of hitting or exceeding sales targets
  • Comfortable with face-to-face selling and relationship-driven prospecting
  • Organized, disciplined, and self-managed
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • CRM or construction software experience preferred (JobTread / Buildertrend)
