Outside Shipper

Outside Shipper/ Material Handler 

$20/hr.+ DOE

M-F 7am-4:30pm

An established and local plastics and fiberglass manufacturing company in the Sheldon, IA area is looking for a Shipper to work outside. The Shipper is responsible for sending and receiving all materials necessary within the company system. Including, but not limited to, finished product, various product components, and raw materials. 

Responsibilities: 

• Position trucks within the yard to ensure sage and efficient loading or unloading
• Load and unload trucks
• Perform final inspection on all finished product before shipping
• Minimal Forklift operation
• Maintain an organized yard
• Responsible for documentation
• Other duties as assigned 

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
• Ability to read shop orders
• Ability to operate a forklift or be trained
• Ability to lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to handle frequent exposure to elements such as odors, oil, fumes and noise

Physical demands and work environment:

• The Shipper position is classified as heavy work. 
• Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environmental conditions with exposure to: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting. (up to 60lbs.)
• Exposure to heights, humidity, heat, cold, wind, noise, vibration, moving mechanical parts, forklift traffic, and tractor trailer traffic.
