Job Description
Pod 6: Business Development
We are excited to announce our new paid internship program at Filmmakers Ranch.
This is not a token internship. It is not a vague “come hang around and see what happens” situation. And it is definitely not unpaid.
This is a paid, part-time internship for people who want to be part of building one of the most exciting creative spaces in Oklahoma from the inside out. That means real shifts, real responsibilities, real expectations, and real opportunities to make your mark.
At Filmmakers Ranch, interns help shape the atmosphere of our front reception and café — the front door to the Ranch and the social heartbeat of the campus — while also going deep in one specialist area of the business that fits their interests and field of study.
The idea is simple: you will work, you will learn, you will contribute, and you will leave having actually helped build something.
We split interns into one of seven specialist pods, each designed around a different part of the Filmmakers Ranch ecosystem. Some interns may be drawn to events. Some to film programming. Some to business development. Some to the land itself. But wherever you are placed, the goal is the same: to combine practical responsibility with meaningful creative experience inside a place that feels ambitious, welcoming, stylish, and alive.
This application is for Pod 6: Business Development.
Pod 6: Business Development
Purpose:
Help turn interest in Filmmakers Ranch into real momentum.
This pod exists to help move people from curious to committed — whether that means a future renter, coworking member, partner, student, production client, sponsor, or community collaborator. The goal is not aggressive sales. The goal is thoughtful follow-through: making sure the right people hear about the Ranch, understand what makes it special, and do not fall through the cracks once they do.
Think less cold corporate sales team, more: the relationship engine behind a creative campus with real ambition — the people helping make sure a great tour becomes a booking, a good conversation becomes a partnership, and a moment of interest becomes something real.
This pod helps build that momentum.
You might help track leads, follow up after tours, organize outreach lists, support partnership research, prepare materials, help keep the pipeline moving, or make sure opportunities are followed through with warmth, clarity, and professionalism. You might help create the systems and consistency that turn scattered interest into steady growth.
Done well, this pod does more than support outreach. It builds trust. It builds pipeline. It builds opportunity.
What the role looks like:
This is a part-time paid internship with scheduled shifts. We expect 4 shifts per week between 4 & 6 hours and shifts are available 7-days per week between 7.30am-9.30pm.
Interns will typically split their time between:
Front-of-house / café shifts Helping shape the feel of the Ranch day to day by supporting reception, café flow, guest experience, and the overall warmth and energy of the space.
Pod-specific shifts and responsibilities:
Working inside Business Development to help organize, support, track, and strengthen outreach, follow-up, and opportunity flow across the Ranch.
This means the role combines hospitality, communication, organization, relationship-building, and execution. You are not just observing. You are helping make the machine run.
Responsibilities in this pod may include:
Helping track inquiries, leads, tours, and follow-up actions
Supporting outreach to potential partners, renters, members, sponsors, or collaborators
Assisting with research on prospective clients, organizations, productions, and opportunities
Helping prepare materials for meetings, tours, or partnership conversations
Supporting tour coordination and follow-up so interest turns into next steps
Helping maintain clear records, notes, and movement across the pipeline
Coordinating with front-of-house so incoming opportunities are welcomed and routed well
Assisting with CRM updates, contact organization, and follow-through systems
Contributing ideas that help the Ranch grow through better communication, sharper follow-up, and more intentional relationship-building
Who this is for:
This is for someone who understands that exciting places do not grow by accident.
You may be interested in business, producing, partnerships, marketing, entrepreneurship, operations, sales, or relationship management. You might love the idea of being close to the action while also helping make future opportunities happen. You might be the kind of person who enjoys connecting dots, staying organized, following through, and helping good conversations turn into real outcomes.
You do not need to know everything. But you do need to bring energy, initiative, curiosity, follow-through, and the willingness to be useful.
Because this is a paid internship, we are looking for people who are excited not just by the idea of growth, but by the work that supports it. That means showing up on time, handling responsibility well, working assigned shifts, and taking pride in helping create a Ranch that feels responsive, credible, and full of momentum.
Why this is special:
Filmmakers Ranch is not trying to be a static venue that waits for people to stumble across it.
We are building something active.
This internship is a chance to help drive that growth from the inside.
It is for people who want more than a line on a résumé. It is for people who want responsibility, momentum, business instincts, communication skills, real-world experience, relationships, and the satisfaction of helping turn potential into progress.
You will not be stuck at the edges. You will be in it.
