Job Description

Overview

A Social Supervisor is a master of the space, with well-rationalized POVs on tools, campaign structure, platforms, and the industry. They can rattle off innovations and best practices and are developing a team capable of the same levels of excellence. Their team can work independently to execute client campaigns, even in the absence of clear guidance, and they are experts at analyzing, optimizing, and roadmapping. Most importantly, the Supervisor has considerable management ability, and can provide clear feedback, leadership, and mentorship.

Goal

  • Construct and implement a long-term social media vision that integrates with cross-channel media plans.
  • Drive agency-wide growth by pioneering new processes, roadmaps, and testing frameworks that are replicable across accounts.
  • Cultivate a team capable of independent decision-making, sophisticated optimization, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Build "superfan" client relationships based on deep trust, proven incremental growth, and masterful storytelling.

General Skills and Expectations:

  • Deep mastery of Meta Ads Manager plus multiple secondary platforms (Reddit, LinkedIn, Nextdoor, Pinterest, TikTok)
  • Exceptional management skills and ability to manage deadlines across multiple managed and dotted-line reports
  • Specialized knowledge aligned to core client vertical
  • Superior communication skills for internal and client partnerships
  • Strategic and critical thinking, capable of planning towards the long term and big picture

Education and Experience:

  • 4-6 years experience with paid social campaign management, agency or brand setting preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university; a focus in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications is a plus but not required

Key Responsibilities

Media Strategy, Plan Development & Innovation

  • Act as the primary strategic liaison, leading the research and presentation of social campaigns while integrating emerging trends like the Creator Economy and UGC.
  • Develop comprehensive, "next-level" testing roadmaps that drive 10-20% annual spend growth through incremental performance gains.
  • Oversee the holistic media planning process, coordinating across Search, Programmatic, and Video channels to ensure a unified strategic flow.
  • Champion agency-wide innovation by authoring high-level POVs, leading learning series, and identifying strategic beta opportunities for clients.

Technical Expertise, Campaign Management & Media Plan Execution

  • Instill a culture of technical excellence, ensuring the team follows rigorous QA best practices for 100% accuracy and brand safety.
  • Validate and challenge existing platform setups, regularly identifying innovative ways to "game the algorithm" and improve performance.
  • Master advanced research and 3rd-party data tools to guide the team in building data-backed strategies and competitive analyses.

Reporting and Measurement

  • Lead the narrative on campaign impact, leveraging complex data and real-world business outcomes to answer the question, “Is social working?”
  • Review and refine the team's reporting output, ensuring complex data is synthesized into succinct, visually compelling, and client-ready stories.
  • Coordinate cross-channel measurement efforts to identify high-level trends and social’s specific influence on the broader media mix.

Team Management and Mentorship

  • Direct the professional development of multiple reports, serving as a mentor who provides guidance on long-term vision and career growth.
  • Optimize team-wide operations by streamlining large-scale projects, delegating effectively, and fostering a culture of collaboration and empowerment.
  • Implement scalable team-wide processes, including training plans and skillset trackers, to ensure managed reports track toward "next-level" performance.
  • Proactively communicate team wins, challenges, and workflow improvements to senior leadership to ensure organizational health and happiness.
