Paint Department Team Lead

Job Description:

We are seeking a working Team Leader for our Paint Department to join our fast-paced aerospace manufacturing team. This position is responsible for overseeing the work that routes to the Paint Department and inspecting all work before submitting it as complete as well as maintaining the paint equipment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coating/part marking surfaces of parts, assemblies and finished products to customer's specifications
  • Visually check own work prior to submitting to inspection
  • Ensure equipment remains cleaned, filers are changed, replace parts as needed
  • Monitor inventory for expired materials
  • Guide the day-to-day operations and activities of people and processes in the assigned area
  • Coordinate daily productions needs with other members of the leadership team
  • Assign tasks and monitor progress
  • Ensure compliance with Company and regulatory guidelines
  • Provides leadership and support to the members of the team
  • Monitor attendance of team members and communicate any issues to Human Resources and Senior Leaders
  • Escalate issues to your supervisor as soon as possible
  • Review and approve time off requests for team members
  • Approve weekly timecards
  • Provide daily reports when requested
  • Update KPI's
  • Weekly "Toolbox Talks"
  • Anticipate immediate and future constraints and communicate to leadership
  • Overtime may be required to accommodate priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with painting metal components per customer drawings
  • Basic shop math and computer skills
  • 1-3+ years leadership experience preferred

Physical and Environmental Demands:

Manufacturing environment may be exposed to noise levels, dust, grime and heat. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Lift parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Must be able to work in standing position up to 10 hours.
  • Must be safety oriented and follow safety policies
